There were two families living in Eagle St in 1841.
Hutchinson's and the Hilton's.
So it was Eagle St before the railways came.

There is no accounting for some of the names for streets in Accrington. One of the names I've never fathomed out is Lemonius St, and take Fox St for another, Foxes? behind the railway station?....

In 1841 he as 40 years of age his wife Jane is shown as 45, two sons William (15) Apprentice Engraver, Matthew (15) Apprentice Butcher.
Ignore the age 15 for both they were not twins, in the 1841...

Yes it was built before 1840, if you compare the footprint of it, it would make a book end with the footprint of the Red Lion pub in Abbey St.

Were talking back in the 1840's that Spread Eagle wasn't there then. The buildings along Blackburn Rd, didn't all appear at once, they were built at different times starting from the Peel building....
