Not if they took precautions, what are they supposed to do if the GP has a sign on the door saying go away?

You can't beat a good diagnosis by phone. I wonder who will be the first to die because GP's could not be bothered to do a home visit and carry out a proper diagnosis?

That's a plus point for being in Spain then - he will have to see a Doctor if he has a problem instead of phoning a call centre.

I know someone who phoned up NHS Direct yesterday with flu type symptoms and was told that tamiflu can be arranged by a GP

There are between 250,000 and 500,000 flu related deaths each year worldwide. So far there have been less than 300 swine flu related deaths.

3 deaths in the UK out of almost 6000 confirmed cases. All of them were vulnerable and could have died had they caught normal flu (whatever that is)
