It may well be easier for them to be evicted from the public highway than from private land. Whatever the law is they will know it.

The houses that were demolished had been used as a ghetto for bad tenants - much to the annoyance of good tenants nearby. It will take time for that reputation to fade.

Haven't you seen Charter St lately? - there is a small estate of new builds going up financed by Hyndburn Homes - so that means half the street will look better. It replaces those ex council houses...

They might have been attracted by the prospect of some saleable architectural salvage items in the Con club. Good publicity can have bad repercussions. Does CCTV cover its access points?
