What is so wrong with having the forty two days as a safety net? I am pretty certain that people who plan to commit acts of terror don't make collecting evidence a doddle for the police and it won't...

I don't for one minute think that suspects are picked up on the basis of NO evidence. However long it takes to prove or disprove that the evidence is right or wrong as long as innnocent lifes are not...
