Hi folks, I hope everyone is well, it’s been a while since I last posted but I wanted to share this with you all. Here is a picture of a remeberance display I’ve made out of my metal detecting finds, I’m planning on loaning it to a local history group or library so keep your eyes peeled.

I managed to get out for a hour with the detecting stick earlier, I didn’t find much apart from a old penny...better luck next time I guess :)

Had a few good chats with Jim about old bottle tips in the past, a top chap with time for anyone and what he’s doeant know isn’t worth knowing. I just haven’t found the time to take it down and spend a couple of hours looking around the bits and oddities he’s accumulated.

Against my better judgement, I decided to brave the elements and go searching for treasure today. I didn’t find much but, I did manage to snap this shot of a spring lamb with its mother which was a bonus.

Yes, like most things, it’s always worth running it past someone more knowledgable :) Hi Mark, the finds officer has taken the thimble so he can do his report (size,weight etc). When his report is finished it gets sent to a coroner to make the decision that it’s treasure and not a modern lost...

Just a little update, it turns out the thimble I found was “treasure”, sadly it shattered while I was trying to straighten it a bit :( I sent a pic of the broken thimble to a friend who quickly sent me the link below :-...
