    Long Shot. Alan Douglas

I mean this with respect. Is their anyone who was related to Alan Douglas of Church/Accrington? Specifically are you a son or daughter? If you are and where born between 1945 and 1970 I would be interested in talking to you. I know of later siblings, but I remember meeting a lad in the Duke of...

My grandfather Thomas "Tommy" Douglas was an Iron Moulder by trade, my grandmother Rachel was in the mills prior to the outbreak. As most of you know from your own families these...

Making sculptures to go on the Coppice

Why? I can't really see how this is going to work old cock. I don't dislike the idea of using the coppice for a backdrop for art; but these images don't do it for me. CAVE UNDER ORMEROD.St 60s-70s..

It wasn't Cave, it was a cave in. One evening a big hole appeared in the middle of the street about 68/69. There are numerous shafts and tunnels running all over below Accrington and much of the surrounding district or so I'm told. Could be an good area for discussion or research.

I'll try and get over for this. I was in town on Weds and I was over in Blackburn today. Don't get long on the ground but it will be worth the trip. Thanks Retlaw. P.S. of the 21/2 Thousand Accrington men; do you have any Douglas's?
