Does anyone have any information re the race course that is shown on the 1848 OS map of Enfield - Clayton-le-Moors? Because of the Greyhound pub, I assume it was a dog track.

I think it's called Snuffy 'arrod because there's supposed to be a snuff box atop the Town Gate clock. I didn't know they ever made the stuff in Harwood.

County hall and all lancs cc machines run Sophos which is supposed to be vv good - we've got an ntl lan-broadband connexion which automatically runs ntl's firewall which seems to be ok ... so far so good

Last i tried it took me all day to send them an email - perhaps they knew in advance that it was a complaint :thumbsdow

Sections of the canal have to be drained during the winter for essential maintenance works (fitting new lock gates, cills etc.) to be carried out. Quite a busy period for them as works on t'cut. :s_pirate:
