    Alan Pickup - CEO?

Flicking through my match programme last night I read a column by Alan Pickup, CEO. When did this gent become Chief Executive Officer of the club? Last I recall he resigned as a director in 2013 along with Murray Dawson.

    Next captain

I was gutted to hear the news that Luke Joyce won't be with the club anymore. He took a lot of unfair criticism in the years but will be sorely missed. My next thought turns to who will captain our side next season. My vote would go to Dean Winnard. Notwithstanding the presence of Andy...

Club statement on the Bury pitch announcer

Thought I'd give it a few days, but I'm still fuming. Let's recap: Those in charge at the club on a match day (not sure who they are anymore) decided to recruit Bury's pitch announcer for the home game against Bury on Tuesday night. As any fan of an opposition team would on an away ground...

    Northampton (A) Match Thread

Looks like a 4-2-3-1 formation to me, with Dean at left back as in much of his time under Coley. Both new lads in the starting eleven, playing behind Carver. Joyce and Procter holding. Gutted I couldn't make it today. Good luck Jimmy & John. Come on Accy.

    Sean Maguire - new forward

    We're being spoiled, it's like Chrimbo. http://accringtonstanley.co.uk/2014/09/sean-maguire-joins-loan/

    Ian Renshaw

Afternoon all. This week I was informed by a soon-to-be in-law that this cousin had played for Stanley. The player's name was Ian Renshaw and was probably around the Crown in the late 90's/early 00's. Can't offer much else information apart from the fact that he played at Marine (we think...

    Jimmy Hinksman

Surprised to see no mention on here as yet. Jimmy Hinksman, former Accrington FC and Accrington Stanley 1968 player and manager, passed away on Tuesday. I wasn't around for his tenure but am well aware of the hugely important role he played in our club's history. Rest in peace. See...

    Danny Ventre

Danny 'buy us a drink' Ventre is soon to be out of contract with Sligo. Apparently he plays in defensive midfield now. Any chance he could return to Stanley in January I wonder? http://www.goal.com/en-ie/news/3942/ireland/2013/11/01/4375227/ventre-admits-he-could-move-on-after-fai-cup-final

    Google Page Ranking

Hi, For some reason whenever the letters P and R are posted together (for instance in an abbreviation of public relations) the forum displays them as "Google Page Ranking" once posted. Don't know if someone is already aware of the spooky problem or not but it's very strange. Thanks.

    View From The Cowshed

Evenin' all. Just to let you know that View From The Cow Shed - my blog on our merry band of ruffians - is back after a wee break and a lick of paint. Feel free to let me know what you think of the new look: View From The Cow Shed Cheers.

    Stop the Queen

No, not that one. This one: This is a request - nay, a desperate clamour for the playing of 'We Will Rock You' as the Accrington Stanley players enter the field to cease. I absolutely believe that it was meant in good faith to inspire our eleven men in red as well as the fans, all...

    Noel Gallagher Interview!

Well that's a different topic altogether, but when endulged it is a fair point. I disagree, of course. Oasis means so much to so many people. It's a little bit like a religion - you either get it or you don't. If you don't feel ten feet tall when you hear the guitar solo to Supersonic or Live...

    Noel Gallagher Interview!

Why is this so difficult to comprehend? He said that Oasis were the last of the 'big British bands' to really enter society and take over a generation. Beatles, Stones, Who, Queen, Feelgood, Clash, Pistols, Jam, Bowie, Roses, Smiths etc... it all ended with Oasis. This is mainly because the...

    Noel Gallagher Interview!

...no one has said they were better than The Beatles. None of this detracts from the fact that Noel Gallagher was correct when he said Oasis were the biggest band in the world at their peak - at that time. Really is like banging one's head against a Nori brick on this thread.
