    Bond Bug

All production models were orange, although a few white ones and lime green ones were produced for promotional purposes. I remember a teacher I had at school had one in the late 1970s.

    A sad state of affairs

Has anyone else come across this story from the BBC website? BBC Sport - Accrington Stanley chairman Ilyas Khan defiant amid racist taunts Obviously the behaviours and attitudes are going to be condemned by the people on here, that's without question. However, what really surprises me is that...

    Terrapins in ponds and canals!?

When I worked in St Helens I regularly used to see them in the canal near Pilkington's glass works. I think they thrived in the warm water run-off.

    Free Hi-Fi Stand

This is a very solid stand and although it has a few cosmetic marks on the back [see picture], it's not a bad piece at all. I no longer have a need for this piece of furniture, so I'm offering it for free to any individual that wants it. This is offered to genuine individuals and not for...

    Inglourious Basterds - Tarrantino's latest

Anyone else seen this yet? I saw it this afternoon and I was left generally unimpressed. There are moments in the film that are very good and I don't even mind him completely ignoring historical facts. But it could have done with about 20 minutes cutting from the film, as some of the long...

    Pennine Lancashire Food Festival

When you consider that the opening year (2005 I think it was), so many of the events were based in and around Darwen, recent years have seen less and less events in the town. The food market, for example, disappeared after the first 2 years, despite being well attended and supported. I really...

How much sleep do you need and how much do you get

That's extremely tough and unpleasant Rindy, both for you to suffer with it and for us having to imagine it. ;) I tend to do ok on 7 hours sleep, which I do tend to get each night. I'm usually asleep for 11pm and awake at 6am.

Let The Right One In (2008)

Whilst I agree that it's good that we all have differing opinions, I do believe that our experiences of cinema reflect on what we consider to be good and bad. If the majority of our film experiences are Hollywood based, then I can understand why the Spanish film, The Orphanage, is considered to...

Let The Right One In (2008)

There is an enormous world of film outside of Hollywood and if people would open their experiences to world cinema, then there are some rich treasures to be explored. It's a shame when people allow subtitles to cloud their experiences, but it's always been the case I suppose.

Good to see that Darwen have a few events this year, after being shafted last time.

Bookworms: What are you reading at the moment?

Going through a Graham Greene phase and at the moment I'm reading The End of the Affair. Quite a short book, but beautifully written.
