house renovating

I'm opening my fireplace up to put in an open fire, but need to replace some bricks. I've read that I need to use lime mortar as it helps prevent drying out, but found an article recently saying all mortar is heat resistant. What type of mortar should be used and where can I get it?

Hello Does anyone know of any builder type people that do house re-pointing around the accy area? i need the front of a terraced house doing (did it myself 5 years ago but now needs re-doing and i can bring myself to do it again myself) and does anyone know the likely cost of it? thanks
