The downside of a break away is the unpacking, the washing and ironing and putting away the bags until next time. I tackle this task without delay.......so i had all the washing done and the clothes blowing on the line before you could say 'Jack Robinson'.
I thought that hubby would have left all his washing for me to do when I got back.....so I was pleasantly surprised to find the washing bin empty....he had remembered how to use the washer and had got all his things done and put away.
We had the tiny tornado yesterday for a while and we took him to Skipton. We walked along the canal bank and fed the ducks, swans and pigeons.
When we arrived back I brought my washing in and thought that there was a pungent aroma of dung......nothing much unusual, we are close to the fields and I thought that they might be muck spreading.
The strong smell seemed to be everywhere I went....and I was sat at the computer last night and the pong was overpowering.

I thought I had better investigate. Sometimes Monty gets a bit distressed when I go away and he shows his displeasure by leaving a dry Richard the third somewhere in the house(although that is the only time he ever does this).....I searched everywhere and could find nothing. I think that Monty knew what i was thinking because he was looking at me with ill concealed disdain. It was the kind of look that said 'As if I would do a thing like that!'.

I went back to the computer and sat down again....but the smell was really ripe and was putting me off what I was doing.
The only place I hadn't checked was my trainers.....I picked up one foot....no nothing there, then the other one. There it was ...........I had Sh*te on my shoe.....no wonder the smell followed me.
It must have taken me a good 15 mintues to get all the dung from the deep grooves in the sole of my trainer.......I used the toilet brush and flushed off the residue with the shower head from over the bath.
I don't recall treading in the dung....and I don't recall smelling it while we were driving back from Skipton. I will just have to be more careful as to where I put my feet in future!
