Yes. I use to live in Oswald Street and then Henry Street. Use to play on the Injun Beds on the spare land left when they knocked down the mill. There was a small lodge behind the Engine Beds (which held the Factory main Drive wheel). Great place to play as kids. My first little friend was Freddy Parkinson who live on Tanpits Road almost next to the big garage.
Do you remember the actual Tanners yards down near what became the Pioneer Club. My dad took me down there when I was but 2 years old and let me watch a horse being shod.

Distant days still seen clearly.

Playing football and cricket on t'Tanpits was good, but not as good as Nelson Square, which could also be used as a dirty-track for bike rides.

The Gypsies used to camp up on Nelson Square in the 60s, used to have a pint or two wi em in the Spread down acc, I'm saying no more n that.:D
