Those that don't know(or don't care) about my situation- that I have been quite absent from accyweb as of late. I have been suffering from being pretty much from being a borderline alcoholic(though perhaps that is stretching it a little) and depression amongst other health issues. I have been really struggling to cope with things and have been finding work very difficult. Not doing enough, making too many mistakes and getting stressed way too easily etc. I would come home in dark moods On occasion I have drank a full bottle of whisky(sometimes more) and then in the morning before work had to have more drink to be able to function; I was that hungover. I started to isolate myself from my work friends and annoying others with my negativity and moods.
I had six weeks off work. On my second week back, I had a meeting in the morning; and was told I was doing fine and that we should start the capability procedure. I felt fine about it and my boss thought I was ok. I started to feel ill from a cold/flu and sold my Samsung Galaxy S4 that night in order to buy the Nexus5.
Sold the S4 via Ebay. The person messaged me and asked if they could pick the phone up in the evening, they wrote like it was a woman on the other end, said it was their daughters birthday. I said ok. They paid me via paypal and paid me £10 less than they was supposed to. When I asked them why, they said they had made a mistake and would pay me £10 on collection.
Thought it was weird I was paid by an Asian bloke from Birmingham when an English guy came and picked the phone up and paid me £10.
Three days later Paypal have a claim going non recipt of goods. Essentially I have sold my S4 for £10 and I am paying close to £40 for the next two years for it. I had taken the money into my bank account so now I owe Paypal £300.
Depressed with it all I went on a binge of Red Stag and I was on my third bottle in four days when I spilt a wine glass filled with straight whisky over my PC, A PC of which I have spent close to £1000 buying bits and bats for it.
Severely depressed. I returned to the doctors and was given a course of antidepressants of which I am still taking. I had more weeks off work, which was spent mostly in bed watching four seasons of the series Haven. Work called me in for a informal meeting and I tried my best to explain my situation. They have been quite good to me, they made an appointment to see the company doctor...
The PC: Luckily. VERY LUCKILY- the dust cover on my case took most of the liquid. I guess I was lucky that it was whisky, though red stag is quite sticky. What took most of the drink was my video card My friend took my PC to park computers in Blackburn and they done a fantastic job cleaning it up. Stripping the graphics card apart completely along with the rest of the computer. They said they spent 8 hours cleaning it up. THE PC STILL WORKS!
Anyway; Skip forward to present day-
I am on my ninth week without alcohol and I am doing better at work. I am currently undergoing the 'capability procedure' and I have been to see the company doctor and I guess I was pretty close to losing my job of fifteen years.
Finally the letter came through couple weeks ago and I had my second counselling session yesterday. Starting to feel a little better about myself(hardly any migraines since I stopped drinking). Perhaps I can start to believe that life is liveable without abusing one thing or another. For me at first it was illegal drugs & alcohol, then just illegal drugs, then prescription abuse( I was taking codeine, Tramadol and other painkillers prescribed to me for various health problems ) then back to alcohol for the last eight years. Hopefully I can leave all of that behind me.
Well. Thanks for reading if you got this far without getting bored or whatever. There are some good people on this forum. I have grown to like many of you very much( even Less

Always striving to be a better person, (and miss you susie- hope somehow you can read this on another plain of existence)
