Forgetting all that is currently going on in this crazy world.
we all need something that will take us away from the madness...and Yoga does it for me.
I took myself and my mat to do my fifth day of the 30 day challenge of Yoga.
Day one was good.
Day two was hard.....I really struggled with some of the poses...I know my linitations so some of them I just watched (yes, yes...I know watching is not 'doing')
Day three was invigorating and I thoroughly enjoyed the time.
Yesterday was day four and it was another one of the difficult ones...so I decided that where there was stuff I could not do, because I am not yet flexible enough, I substituted stuff that I could do. Yoga is about doing what feels good...not tying yourself in knots.
So to day five. I watched this video before doing it so that I knew where I was going to put in my own 'freestyle' poses.
Goodness it was over just as I was getting into my stride.
I am a sixth of the way through the challenge and although sometimes I do not feel like getting my kit on( that bit is important...it underlines your intention to complete the session.)..and get out my mat.
I always feel better once I have done it.
Recently my back was playing up a bit.....I hate taking tablets....these sessions, done carefully seemed to have helped.
I joined a yoga class earlier this year with the intention of getting more flexible, but also to increase my circle of friends.
I miss not going to class, for the fact that I am doing this on my own, there is none of the banter that you get in class.
When classes do resume I hope these sessions will show in my class practice.
Namaste.
Stay safe, stay well, stay sane!
