It started on friday night ... My nephew is at Bangor Uni .. and i was winding him up on facebook .. saying i was making broth and dumplings for tea .. He loves my broth .. and says i make it better than his mum .. she agrees and says that she cant make it ... Next thing he says send some down wi my mum tomorrow .. she's coming down with mick and make sure theres dumplings in .. give her a ring and ask her if she'll pick some up for me. So me being the soft auntie i am ... rang my sister up ..and she said she'd come up saturday morning at 10am to pick it up. Anyway i put a goody bag together for him .. the broth, dumplings, a bottle of red kola that i had left from spugs last visit, some sweeties for him. Made arrangements with spugs to ring me in the morning to make sure that i was up for when they landed .. watched the rest of pudsey and found out how much they'd raised ..and off i went to bed.
Spugs rang and rang in the morning .. im not telling you how many missed calls there were in the morning ..
Came online to wind him up on facebook and Sam was online on facebook and i was talking to him on facebook chat .. He said he was tidying up his room for his mum coming!!! Typical teenager. Anyway when i said his mum and mick had just pulled up he said im off .. i got things to do .. and disappeared!! I was thinking ..when diane and mick have picked the goody bag up .. then i could go back to bed and sleep ... so little did i know .. She said why dont you come with us .. give him your goody bag yourself ... then my brother walked in ..is everything ok .. yeah why .. well you're normally in bed at this time so we explained what was going on .. and said .. go its something different .. so off i went to Bangor.
We set off at 11am ... got to bangor for just after 1pm .. parked up outside a pub ..well we had to make it easy for sam to find us .. The Black Bull .. it was a weatherspoons kind of pub ..and when we finally met up with sam .. had our dinner and later on had our tea there. We drove up to sam's hall of residence ... with sam giving directions ... who walks everywhere .. which was a big mistake .. cos turn right here .. sis i cant sam its no entry ... a few times ... we finally got there .. and it reminded me and sis of burnley general ... especially with all the corridors .. have to go up to go down to go across ... and it smelt just like the hospital as well ... we got to his room and it small .. just big enough for a single bed, a desk a wardrobe and a chair ... nowt else!! I said to him have you not got a hoover .. and he said the floors normally covered wi junk .. so i cant hoover .. so thats his excuse .. lol We'd brought all his stuff that he wanted .. including the goody bag and left them all in his room ... and off we went for a walk .. down to the pier on which sam said is a brilliant cafe that sells scones ... big scones ... with a gleam in his eye ... So leaving the car .. we headed downhill all the way .. about 10 mins later we saw the pier .. and we walked down to it ... past a pub called Taps and Spire .. its a tapas bar ... or so sam said .. and out onto the pier... It was windy, it was flipping freezing .. and yet we carried on ... down to where sam had promised us lovely scones ... and oh my they were good!!! You had a choice sultana or plain .. the sultana ones had just come out of the oven ... and still warm ... and a brew to warm us up ... When we eventually left there .. the sun was starting to go down .. and if you looked down to the right though it was cloudy you could just see the menai bridge .. the camera didnt pick it up though .. on a clear day it will look brilliant but the pier shuts at the end of november till near enough the end of january ... theyre calling it the winter break ..i actually dont blame em it was windy and cold .. can you imagine it what it would be like in the january storms .. There was a couple of seagulls flying above us .. and they kept dropping a shell .. trying to smash it to get at the seasnail inside it, there was plenty of smashed shells and even crabs claws on the pier .. they gave up in the end though .. and started dropping it down onto the pebbles underneath from greater height!!
Walked back up to the hall of residence picked the car up and drove down into bangor, parked up and went for a wander round the shops ... then had to pick the car back up and parked it up went for tea .. and then dropped sam back off .. and started off for home about 6.45pm ...
To say we managed to get down there .. no wrong turnings .. on the way home we had 4 wrong turnings .. near enough ended up in betsy coed .. yeah i know it aint spelt right ... but still ... We eventually got back home about 9.20pm .. just in time for im a celeb!!!
