So having read my views I suppose that I should be prepared to be labelled ‘Transphobic’.
One of those who the popular press call ‘TERFs’.That is an acronym for Transphobic Exclusionary Radical Feminist.
But I am not any of those things.

The acronym TERF is defamatory, divisive and used to shut down any kind old debate by strident transgender women…..in the the way that the slur ‘racist’ is used to shut down debate on that topic too.

I have no issues with respecting the difficulties that those who are transgender must face daily.
I am not exclusionary…..there is room for everyone.
Radical I might be seen as that on some issues, but feminist I am certainly not that either.

While I respect people who are transgender they cannot take the ground that was dearly won in support of women’s rights by those who fought for equality…or what passes for equality ( there is still a very long way to go before women are equal in lots of fields).
Those men who choose to be seen as women will get a taste of that first hand as soon as they put on a dress and high heels.
It might come as something of a surprise to them.

Their respect cannot be delivered by taking from the respect of biological women.

And transgender men who are still ‘whole males’ (have not had the transformative surgery) should never be allowed to occupy female only spaces.
Hospital wards, changing rooms, toilets, prisons, women’s refuges….precisely because they are whole males and pose a risk(however small this might be).
The language that describes women and their biological traits must not be erased either, because in doing so you erase women.
If the use of this language that defines biological women upsets those women, who are men but choosing to be women….then that is what comes with the package of being transgender.

Get a straw and suck it up…..and in the process maybe realise how women have been treated for centuries

As to sport…..transgender women are men.
They have the advantage of more muscle mass….and the masculine hormones that their bodies produced prior to their decision to become women cannot be erased.

So they are winners before they set foot on the field…or dip their toes in the water, or get into the saddle of a bike…..and the other competitors know that they cannot win against these men who have chosen to be women.
It is akin to a biological female having taken illegal performance enhancing drugs….that cannot be right.
So either have sports that are for transgender people only….or make the decision not to compete.
Yes….that is a hard decision, but life is full of hard decisions….a bit like deciding that you feel more like a woman than a man.
Another Non PC episode from me…..and no apology.
I say it how I see it.
