The day it all comes to a shuddering end......and Ma has a face like a melted welly.
It wouldn't matter if we had spent three weeks away, it would never be enough....we would both be like the lad in oliver who wants 'more'......there are always lovely places that you find on the day before you are due to go home, there is always an interesting event planned for the Saturday, as you leave resort on the Friday.......and Fridays evening meal always looks yummy.
We did n't have to be on the coach until 9am....how civilized is that?
But the journey home always seems to take an eternity......it isn't good being sat next to Ma when she is as mad as a wet wasp.
Seeing as how it was the start of the bank Holiday exodus as well.......well, you can imagine the rest......queues and Jams......Jams and queues.
I quite like Jam, but it has to be on toast or in a cake......these jams were hideous, and there was no escaping.....we were stuck.
I am eternally grateful that my other half declines to come on these breaks.....he would be far worse than Ma......at least she sits and stews quietly......I just know that he would whinge and moan.
Suffice it to say...we didn't reach Burtonwood until 4.30........and then had to wait another hour for a coach coming in from Paris.
We received a message to say that the coach from Paris would not hit Burtonwood until 7pm at the earliest....so we were waved off on our not so merry way.
It was 8pm when we got home.....hungry and frazzled(even I was a bit frazzled by this time).....it had taken 11 hours to get from Folkestone to home...we could've been halfway to Australia!
