I'm having a break.

No, it isn't anything to do with the snow....and if I smoked I would be lighting up right now.

No....the back bedroom....(which is where I sit typing away stuff for the blog) has looked, er...well a bit of a tip.

All the Christmas presents have been stored in here. It was just getting a bit tedious stepping over and around stuff.

So this morning I thought I would bag things up into 'families' so that next week when we go up to see Ma we can perhaps do a few deliveries at the same time.

I can be on the ball...have the stuff in the lobby so that himself doesn't catch me on the back foot so to speak.

That has been my task this morning......and it is all but done.
Once I am sure that everything is wrapped tagged and labelled I can put these tiresome bits of stuff away...the wrapping paper, the ribbons and the tags......I just have one major gift to arrive.....I am hoping that the postie brings that tomorrow and then I am done!
Hallelujah. I am going to be able to sit back and relax.
I am not doing anything special for Christmas day...in the way of cooking I mean.
It will just be our usual Sunday grub....just for the two of us.(well, no three......I will do a portion for Ma) This will be a bit of a novelty, as I have always done the Christmas lunch for us and my elderly neighbours on each side of us....but the old feller next door is going out for lunch with his son(recently divorced,so on his own too) and the old lady who used to live on the other side of us, is now in a home.

I will still be doing one extra portion for Ma, but that is nothing different.
It will be roast beef...with all the trimmings.
himself might get a pud...but that will be it.

Boxing day I have a nice bit of Ham.......I will boil it with some mustard and garlic....then I will cover the rind with some marmalade and roast it. It is a big joint so there will be some for a hot meal and then some for sandwiches........Ma will get some of that too, with parsley mash and buttered swede and carrots.

Well, I guess I had better get back to the tidying up.

You are far more organised than me Marg!!!

Hopefully should be finished by Wednesday......................................hopefully!!! :D

Hey, marg. good on ya. Sounds a bit like my style of Xmas. Like laid back and easy, these days. Nothing wrong with a bit of beef or ham and yours sounds veeery tasty. Lucky bloke, lucky mum.

It was delish........himself had a healthy (well healthy-ish) option of strawberries with thick cream and a blob of vanilla ice cream as well.
The strawberries came from Egypt,(and No I don't care that they travelled so far to grace my table - as the advert says....'I'm Worth it'......except I didn't have any)and himself said they were lovely.
