I'm not ready......

I'm not ready for Christmas.
Nowhere near. I was much better prepared this time last year when all about me was in disarray and chaos.

I have come to the conclusion that I need to have some time constraints...something that makes me focus on what needs doing and by when.

I still feel like it should only be July.

The recent wet weather at the weekends has hampered much of my resolve.
During the week I am taken up with doing things for Ma.....I have little spare time...or at least not in the chunks that it is necessary to go to the metropolis to check out their wares.
If we don't go out and about tomorrow it will be four weeks since we had a Saturday out......and if we do get out tomorrow I am pretty sure that being the last weekend before the festive period...places will be packed and I will seriously need to sharpen my elbows.

When buying gifts it helps to have some idea of what you want to buy......and this year this has been one of my failings.

I don't need to worry overmuch about the Christmas dinner...I could do that in my sleep...it is not going to be anything special....just a Sunday roast on a Friday. I won't be doing a starter and himself will settle for strawberries and ice cream for afters(nothing challenging there ).

I am not buying a load of extra grub.......I am not planning on stuffing myself senseless with mince pies and nuts.......and I still have a box of chocolates from my birthday..unopened.

It is just sorting out the gifts, and delivering them. Once that is done I shall heave a sigh of relief and wait until Christmas is behind us.

Anyway, I hope you are better sorted than me...and that you and your family have a lovely time.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

what do you do ... when you've forgotten to buy a Christmas card for the t'other half ... only because you've been running around doing stuff for other people and trying to do all your Christmas stuff .. you've got lists as long as your arm and as soon as you've knocked one of the list .. 5 more have been added to it ... and yesterday I want to forget the first 8 hours I was up .. ah well .. we'll see what happens ... you have a nice Christmas and new year Margaret .. all the best to you, himself, Ma, Nicola and the tinlids ...

Yes Jen.....Christmas is like shovelling fleas across a barnyard.....an unenviable task.......and yet I ALWAYS, always get it all done.
Much to my surprise.
I haven't got a card for my other half either......but I am sure he won't be getting one for me and if he does I can come up here to my production centre and make one in about 8 minutes(OK the glue won't be dry....but give me a score for being resourceful).
You and Spuggie have a lovely peaceful Christmas...with no medical needs.......you don't want arms bandaged with holly printed bandages.
2016...hope it is the best Jen!

too late .... yesterday but i'll be fine at least it was yesterday ... i'll be able to eat Christmas day!!!:D
