Insurmountable Odds.

I was reading a story on Yahoo today.
It was the kind of story that warms your heart.....and let's be honest there are not many of those kind of news stories about today.

It was concerning an Australian Cattle Dog.
The dog, named after Sophie Tucker was washed overboard from a boat in rough seas some four months ago.

The owners of the dog had given her up for lost as she disappeared beneath the waves.
She was just an ordinary house dog....used to a bed in the utility room, and being fed every day, living in air conditioned luxury(to a dog that is).

Unbeknown to the owners, this dog managed to swim five nautical miles to an uninhabited
Island called St. Bee's.......off the coast of Queensland.
This island is where the TV show Survivor was filmed.
The dog made landfall there and was seen periodically by rangers and the noted that she looked in 'poor condition'......but failed to catch her.
The dog was spotted from time to time by the rangers and they noted that she looked like she had filled out a bit.
Eventually she was rescued....she had kept alive by catching and eating the wild feral baby goats that inhabit the island.
The family heard about this dog and got in touch with the rangers...not really expecting it to be their dog, but it was
She was reunited with her owners and they were surprised to see her....she remembered them and leapt into their arms.
By all accounts she has gone back to being a pampered house dog again.

Now in this world of doom and gloom, isn't that a lovely story.

It just shows that when things look bleak and hopeless, that hope is the last thing you should let go of.
We can all learn something from the little dog.

I hope you enjoyed my little story.

It is heartwarming to read a nice, happy story once in a while.

Thank you.:)
