Meat free.

I was reading an article recently that suggested we might, in the move to ‘greener’ living....and to combat climate change, have to give up eating meat.
That to encourage us to do this the government might find it necessary to tax meat heavily.

Oh dearie, dearie me.
While I do not eat a lot of red meat, much less than when I was younger, I do not like this idea much at all.

I loathe lentils!
Chickpeas....well, you can give my portion to the chicks...because I do not want them.
Hummus, that looks like somebody ate it and ‘hummed’ it back up.....so thanks, but no thanks.
In the supermarkets I note that there are beetroot burgers.....burgers that bleed like real meat.
Well, let me say that if I got a burger that was bleeding, it would go right back for another round with a frying pan.

Can anyone tell me why vegetarians want food that resembles something it isn’t....MEAT.
What chemical additives are added to beetroots to make them look, and have the taste and texture of meat?
Have you seen the advert on TV for vegetarian facon....for the uninitiated that is fake bacon.....it looks terrible and flaps onto the bread like something not right.
If you want a bacon buttie...then it needs to be bacon from a pig...not pea protein or whatever they make this abomination from.

Another question for you.....how can you have a vegetarian sausage roll?
It is not sausage....sausage is meat.....ok, there are veggie sausages...except they are NOT sausages at all.
Can’t these people think of some other names for these delicacies that they love so much.
Or is it a case of....’if we call them sausages, then we might catch some meat eaters and convert them’
What exactly is a ‘vegetarian butcher’.....I am asking because I saw an advert for vegetarian sausages and they were made by the ‘Vegetarian Butcher’....I wonder if he stuns his carrots before cutting them...or whether he treats his cabbages humanely.

Humans have evolved over the years with a long gut and canine teeth....this is because they are omnivores....they eat all types of food....a mixture of fruits, grains, vegetables.....and a variety of meat and fish.

I am not averse to vegetables.
I like spuds, carrots, cabbage....preferably doused in a good beef gravy.
I am not so keen on broccoli, sprouts....well they need to be cooked to distraction, then mashed with butter pepper or bacon fat.

What’s with a cauliflower steak.
Who in their right mind would opt for a thick slice of cauliflower fried in some veggie oil, if they could have a thick juicy rib eye.
There is absolutely no comparison...either in taste, texture or nourishment.

Recently my other half bought(by accident) some vegan cheese.
It looked the right colour...the texture was not quite right...but the taste.......uuurgh, it was horrible....how you could substitute that for a real chunk of mature cheddar and enjoy it, is beyond me.
So, I will not be converting to vegetarian ways anytime soon....will you?

My thoughts exactly.....and Vegans.....what in tarnation can they eat....not milk, not cheese......not fish....Hell fire that is not living....it is not even existing.
A life long diet of lentils...kill me now!

I think a "Veggie Butcher" is some kind of psycopathic Bunnie that goes round savaging & murdering veggies in a most brutal & disturbed manner! :D

On top of that, these rabid vegatablists aren't quite right to my mind, they're some strange folk indeed.
