Mick asked.........

'What are we going to do with you'.........Mmmm, let me think about that for a while......how about transportation to Australia.....if it could be done for £10.......that would be good.
Just to put you right though Mick:D.......I wasn't actually looking for a free haircut......I was looking for an inexpensive haircut.....one that I didn't feel was a rip-off.....one that wasn't going to cost an arm and a leg....one that didn't require a trip to see the bank manager, and a mortgage extension.
These were few and far between in the Manchester city Salons...with their pretentious frontages, and their scary looking hairdressers.....tattoos and those big tubes in the ears make me feel a bit intimidated......pink and purple spiky hair doesn't do it for me either....fashion or no.

All I wanted was a simple all one length bob.......and I was quite happy to pay....but come on, £48 is a bit steep....and that was a 'cheap' haircut......there were some that were in excess of £70.
And still folk are going through the doors and paying that........aren't they having the same recession that we are having?

I know some women like to spend money on themselves.....pampering and preening, but that has never really been my style......in my eyes a haircut is something that you have to have now and again, unless you want to look like an unkempt and bedraggled sheep.

It isn't something that I really enjoy....so parting with big chunks of moolah for the privilege of having some hip chick or some smooth guy looking disdainfully at your aged greying locks, is adding insult to injury.

But hey, fate was smiling on us and we were recruited for the free haircut......you just cannot get more economical than that....well, that is, unless they offer to pay you..... I think I might have been a bit chary about that kind of arrangement.

And the girls who recruited us looked 'normal'....yes, OK.....I had better define normal.
They were young and pretty, yes...but they didn't look like they were about to audition for the Rocky Horror Show.
Better still....during the hair cutting, they were concentrating so hard that they didn't bombard us with inane questions or chatter....now, that I like......just cut my hair and be done.
So it was a hit with me.

The best of it is, the girls who are currently training in the salon, pass our details on to future trainees, so we could be phoned and asked to offer our heads at some point in the not too distant future......like 5 weeks....for another free hair cut.
I will be in like Flynn........and I think that maybe daughter will be as well.
Best morning we have had for a while:D.
And, no pudding basins were harmed during the cut.:D:D:D

bit skeptical about giving yer phonenumber margaret! but then i'm a very suspicious/cynical git.:D

Well, Cashy.......I have had lots of calls from the Indian sub continent trying to sell me things I don't want.......this is a reputable(and expensive) hair salon.......so I figured it was reasonable to give it to them.
The Salon also want to be able to contact you to find out your customer expereince with these girls.
I wouldn't give my phone number to just anyone though without knowing why they want to contact me.
