When we go on our Saturday Jaunts I usually listen to music on my MP3 player.
It means that the journey passes quickly, and I am not listening to the chatter of some of the folk who get this bus.
Yesterday, I fished in my bag, pulled out the MP3 player, switched on the noise reducing headset and switched on the player.
I was looking forward to listening to some Pink Floyd stuff.
The battery in the player was as dead as a dodo.
Ah yes, now it all came flooding back. I had listened to music on the way back from Southport last week and the battery was on its last legs then.
I had meant to put it on charge, but must have got distracted.....so no music on the bus ride yesterday....the player is fully charged now. I put it on charge as soon as we got home yesterday.
Himself was chatting to me on the bus.
He said that he thought that the mattress needed turning.
I looked at him with one raised eyebrow.......he tells me this and expects it to magically happen.
How does he think that little me...all of five foot half an inch is going to lift and turn a great heavy orthopaedic mattress?
I made a mental note to get him to come and exercise some of his bulk when we got home.
On arriving home I made a cuppa and while it cooling enough to drink, I went and stripped the bed.
Himself went over the road to daughters house.
He was gone for long enough for me to strip the bed, drink my tea, put the bedding in the washer and set it going, and then I made an attempt to turn the mattress myself(futile).
It got me remembering the time when I took the old mattress off the bed and getting it downstairs.......he called me seven kinds of fool for doing it and didn't let the matter drop for about a fortnight.....so I gave up and waited for him to come home.
We turned the mattress together and he skedaddled and left me to remake the bed with fresh linen.
Methinks I should ask for help a bit more often.
