Our Christmas lunch went off very well, and we all seemed to enjoy it. My cousin managed to keep it together for the sake of all the children. At one point we even talked about Christmas last year at my Aunt Ros's. We laughed as we recalled the children all sneaking out into the garden to play in the snow in their party clothes, and of course without their coats on. By the time we noticed them, they were wet through, and were all put in the bath together to try and get warm again.
My brother has many faults, which I could happily list, being the perfect one of the two siblings, but I'll have to admit that he is a very good cook, and the lunch was mouth watering.
After we had eaten it was time for charades. I was the adjudicator, as well as the one that had to give out the titles to be mimed. It made me laugh, no matter how many times I told the kids that for a film you just had to mime winding a movie camera, they insisted it also appeared on DVD, and made quite a good mime to show a DVD being put into a player as well.
Yesterday I also got my first play on my five year old nephew's Gameboy, and got a closer look at my godson's I-pod. It was all very clever, but I was glad to see that the must have presents for girls was still dolls. Sadly though instead of a Georgian fronted facade, or even a mock Tudor pile, these Bratz dolls live in a 'Bratz Pad'. Since these dolls look a bit slutty to say the least, it's probably fitting they live in an appartment that looks like the home of an upmarket LA hooker.
That's progress I suppose,of sorts. At least these dolls have higher life expectations than having a baby or pushing a hoover.
