When I got on the bus on Saturday.....after trying to run to catch it....I found that things were still wobbling when I sat down.
It was 11.30 by the time I arrived in Preston and I ambled along to the Blackpool stop.
I really intended going to Lytham....but a sign on the bus stop said that there would be disruption to the service due to industrial action by the Stagecoach drivers.
It did not say exactly what the disruption was, but when I asked I was told they would be operating a Sunday service.....so the last thing I wanted to do was get there and find out that I could not easily get back.
I half imagined myself phoning himself telling him that I was staying overnight because the buses had stopped running at 5pm.
That would have made his day.
So I decided to have a mooch round Preston Market.
It was dire....not quite as dire as Accrington, but not much going on.
I ambled through M&S...picked up a loaf and two cheese scones.
There was something going on in front of the Harris....music...fashion show.....so I watched that for a few minutes.
I was getting a bit hungry....so I headed off to the Twelve Tellers and had a grilled chicken breast and salad....being healthy, then went and spoiled thenhealth kick by ordering a Double Raspberry gin liqueur with ice and a splash of soda.
I really enjoyed my lunch....especially the large gin.
It had been my birthday earlier in the week, so this was my treat to myself.
It didn't quite meet the expectations of a photographic expedition (the Vintage car show).....but sometimes plans need to be amended.
I got the bus home just before 2pm....met a lovely couple and chatted all the way back to Blackburn.
I arrived home just before 3pm....ready for a cuppa.
So that was my jaunt out.
