Our second home

We have been down here since Saturday.
So far we have had only one day when it rained until lunchtime. It was't just drizzle either.....it was the kind of rain where every drop seems to hold at least half a bucket of water.
So we stayed in. The tin lids have homework from school. They have grumbled about this. I told them that grumbling doesn't get the work done.
And a wet day meant that they were not missing anything. They knuckled down and got it done.
He-he-he! What they don't know is that there is more where that came from.

The rest of the time here has been lovely blue skies. Ok, it has't been warm enough to get the bikini out and dip into the sea, but it isn't cold either. The air has that 'crisp' feel to it......but it is definitely very spring like.

We haven't done very much. A walk along the sea front.....ambling down to M&S for a couple of cheese scones and a Danish pastry for afternoon tea.
The children went on the tram and up the Orme on Sunday with their dad. They came back looking very 'wind blown' with ruddy red cheeks. They said it was too windy to have a game of crazy golf.....but that the view was 'amazing'.

We are taking the air and eating well. I did a roast pork dinner on Sunday.....with all the trimmings......and we had a very healthy chicken salad for tea yesterday.....but we have slipped off the straight and narrow by having a humongous fish and chip tea the other day.
We told ourselves it was 'allowed' seeing as we are on holiday.....and we don't do it very often.
Anyway, fish and chips always tastes better at the seaside.

I have taken a few pics, but you will have to wait until I get home to see these, as I can only get one pic to upload at a time.
The internet connection is a bit like the phone signal....iffy.

You're right about fish & chips by the sea Ma, absolutely marvellous! Sounds like it's doing everyone some good. :)

It IS great. The house is lovely. It feels just like home.
Dave, you could come, but you would have to sleep in the outhouse.

I have been cooking good basic grub.....and we have been just going with the flow. It is really down to what Nicola feels like doing. Today it wasn't so much.
