Can you believe that it's a month into the year already? Spring will be along soon bringing all those lovely daffodils. I was just sitting thinking about things that I really miss about England and wondering why I ever left in the first place.
Maybe it was the thought of being on a permanent holiday, or happen just being warm all year round. It doesn't really work that way so I've found.
To be on a permanent holiday you need holiday funds and as far as the warmth is concerned, you tend to aclimatise and feel as chilly as the locals when the bad weather turns up!
Anyway, back to what I miss........Tesco.com is top of the list, after my family, of course! I used to love ordering my shopping on the net and the really nice man that turned up with it on a Saturday. A good book shop, Waterstones or W H Smith. My job, never thought I'd ever say that! Decent clothes shops instead of those s**ty shops that sell tourist stuff. Fish and chips!!
I can just see you all thinking what a sad cow I am. Here I am living a lovely life. Beaches, sun.............ummm.
Ok, the plus side. It's nice to wake up to sun every day. I really enjoy sitting reading my book on the balcony. It's nice to stroll around the village with nothing much to do. The cost of living is quite low as long as we don't hit the tourist spots.
I am so bored!!
But, I may be able to share your spring as I have seven daffodil bulbs growing in a pot on my balcony! They could be the first in Tenerife!
