Has anyone done this yet? I am tempted to set it up for RAW VS SMACKDOWN but Im not sure how to go about it or whether it is worth the hassell involved buying the appropriate leads etc... if you have done this please let me know your views on the matter.

I'm not 100% sure on how to do it, but from what I gather ps2 online isn't as good as Xbox live. You need a network adaptor anyway, unless you have one of the slimline ones which are network ready.

Yeah swinny we got PS2 online gaming for same reason as you want it, hubby's always on Raw V Smackdown. What do you want to know about it?

For the best online gaming your best sticking to the pc . The games have more lastability . Ive been playing age of empires 2 for the last 2 years and its an oldish game yet theres still plenty on the site still playing it . Counter strike is the same not sure but think that is most played online game

Good advice chav because on Raw V Smackdown you can't host matches if you are online through a router moden, you can only host via PC.

ime not upto speed on ps2 online as i dont have one but it shoul dbe the same as xbox or very close

From what I know (and I haven't had a PS2 for so long, so I'm not sure), the PS2 has a network adapter that you can buy. The new slim PS2s some with one built in. You run a network lead from your PS2 to either your PC or internet router and then the game ought to set itself up once you're connected to the internet. Of course, you could always buy the adapter and read the instructions ;).

The problems with it are pretty severe... See, while Xbox Live only allows people with broadband to connect to it, PS2 online allows people with a disablingly slow dial-up connection to connect as well. This means that if you have six people playing on broadband, and one on dial-up... You've got a very, very slow and un-fun game going. The only upside is that there are some extremely good games out for the PS2 that play online (SOCOM and the Tony Hawk games, for example). Personally, I'd stick to PC and Xbox online just because you can get a better speed of game out of them, and for ease of setting up.

on PS2 you need to register your machine, softwear comes inbox£19.99.with everything you need.I got told you have to be on broadband to use it,thats what it says on leaflet(instructions)in box.I have it and use it alot its good, more of a challenge than just normal gaming. If you need any help just PM me or Tinkerbelle.
