I have been practising the reading for Aunt Ros's funeral this morning. It's the Henry Scott Holland verse 'Death is nothing at all', so beloved of condolence card makers. Even to a non-believer it is still beautiful in it's sentiment. We should learn to talk about those we have lost, and even laugh about the silly jokes we had with them, even though at first loss is so raw, you never feel as if you'll laugh again.

I read the same verse at mt Nan's funeral twelve years ago,and two years later at my Dad's. I don't know if I should just read the verse or say something as well, like I did at the last two. I'll play it by ear, and see how strong I feel when I am up there.

My night out was cancelled, as my cousin needed me to help her. It must be hard being an only child, at least I had my brother to help me when we lost a parent. We are very, very close, my brother, my cousin and myself. She has always seen me as her big brother, and now that's what I'll be when she needs my help.

My night out has been rearranged, and without being at all disrepectful, I'm looking forward to a pint or two and some good company, which I know I'll get.:)

Good luck with the reading rindy, I'm sure it will be lovely.
Have a great night out, sure your aunt would have wanted you to go for a couple of drinks. Laughing about things that happened with loved ones that you have lost, does help sometimes.

I can't imagine you not wanting to say a few words as I'm sure you will want the world to know how much she meant to you all. Do what you feel is right and we will be thinking of you. Have a fab night out and don't do anything I wouldn't do ;) errr so what does that leave, ha ha xxxx
