RED DEVIL......!

If you see me lying on my back on the floor with my legs in the air like an up ended beetle.....please give me a nudge into the upright position......what a (blaspheming) day I've had. I was up early, in an effort to make amends for yesterday.....and it had the makings of a lovely day....but cold. We always take a couple of oldies with us on our Saturday morning forays into Blackburn.....we were ready early and got into Blackburn for 9am. We didn't really have a lot of stuff to get and were back in Accrington by 10 am......goodie I thought.....I am really going to make some headway today........WRONG. Got home and a bulb blew in the lights in the bedroom.....not a drama I hear you say......well, no wouldn't be except it was one of the most inaccessible of the three bulbs in the light fitting. I took my life in my hands trying to replace the bulb. In my imagination I could see myself in Hospital over Christmas with tinsel on my traction!

Had a phone call from Daughter.... were we still on to have the two year old while they went and got a bit more crimbo shopping done.....hubby suggested that it would be best if they left the baby too.....he thought it was a bit cold to trundle a baby round the shops.
within minutes of tiny Two arriving, my house looked like a burglary at ToysRUs........we had all manner of toys scattered about the house.....all these toys either light up or play music....some do both. There was a very hairy moment when tiny Two threw a large Fisher Price musical ball in the direction of his sister. Fortunately he missed, but only by a fly's nadger!..... the ball was promptly confiscated and so he laid himself down on the carpet and had a hissy fit. I just did the same.....and you know...... it works.
We spent a good hour and a half chasing about.....after which he was pooped and went for a nap.....I was pooped too but I had to stay up.
This wasn't getting the tree put up.

Another thing......today both the Dyson and the microwave died. How unfortunate is that? I just hope that it doesn't give hubby the idea that I would welcome replacements for either of those household items as my Christmas present. If I am that unlucky, he will need a surgical operation to remove the offending items from a very sensitive and tender place.

One year I mentioned in passing that I thought those little hand held 'Red Devil' vacuum cleaners would be a boon to clean the stairs....and get into small spaces. On the run up to Christmas hubby kept telling me that he had got me something that I REALLY wanted......Yeah, like it hasn't happened before......what could it be.....diamond earrings, expensive perfume......I'll tell you what it was...... it was one of those hand held 'Red Devil' vacuum cleaners. He could not understand why I wasn't tickled to little mint balls.....personally I couldn't understand why I wasn't up before the judge......charged with strangling my errant husband with the electric flex on the 'Red Devil'.

Anyway the day hasn't ended all badly......I have winkled the Christmas tree out of its' resting place.....had to move a chest of drawers to get to it. I have moved the exercise bike and got into the wardrobe in the back bedroom..... this is where the tree ornaments and tinsel is stored. So that a great box of stuff is out and ready and sitting in the front room......and (fingers crossed) tomorrow afternoon I am going to trim the tree......but just now I am knackered!

Phew.....what a busy day. Don't worry about the tree you'll get it up eventually. Have a rest. :-)
