Salad Days......

This hot sunny weather has done for my cooking. I want to cook, but the kitchen is small and even with the door open it becomes unbearably hot.
If I cook, I find I don't want to eat what I have cooked.
Hubby is fine with salad. He likes the lettuce, the peppers that come in almost every shade. Tomatoes, cucmber, radishes(burp-Pardon).....pickled onions. He will have steak, or ham or pork pie with his salad...or sardines(yeuk)......but me, I have found as I have got older I can't digest the damn stuff.........it lingers in my digestive system like a stone....some of it doesn't even get to my digestive system.....it sticks between my teeth.
I don't know about you, but I find it quite disconcerting to watch someone speak when there is something green sprouting from their gnashers.

The last couple of nights I have been sat here, tormented by the smell of steak and pepper pies....the Clayton Park Bakery is just behind our house.
I have wanted to trot along the path with my dish in my hand and ask them for a serving.
Instead I have gone downstairs and had a bowl of shredded wheat....not exactly gourmet stuff is it?
Still, I haven't had any heat lumps. My Gran used to tell me that you only got those from eating the wrong food in Summer....I'm not sure how true that is.
We haven't even had a roast dinner over the last few weeks. We won't be having one this week-end either as I am off to be a wheel chair pusher for mutti.......the good thing is someone else will be doing the cooking......AND the washing up!
