Well i went up to see spugs last weekend. My neighbour was going to a wedding in Lanark .. said do you want a lift .. checked where nearest train station was .. yes theres one in lanark .. yes i will so was arranged .. id get a lift up last friday .. be dropped off at the train station, spugs meet me in glasgow and then off to his .. and back home on the sunday .. so little did we know.
Well had to be a warm day .. there was 4 of us in the car. Spugs had given me a shopping list for him - black puddings full ones not slices, 2 bottles of sterilised milk, and i took up sweeties for him - coltsfoot rock, licorice tablets, forgotten what else. Thats what that post was about ... black puddings were for spugs .. Anyway id made preparations .. ice blocks and stuck an evian bottle with vimto in the freezer .. to try and keep everything cool on the way up. Which they did .. and off we went - set off about 10am .. finally got up there about 2.30pm with a stop off at Southwaite services .. the one where you get the RAF flying low overhead!!!
I had an hour on the train from lanark to glasgow to meet spugs .. met him in glasgow .. tis a dangerous place for me - id probably get lost between the train stations.
I did get some photos through the train window ... thats why i asked if a train window counted .. lanark station, motherwell station .. the fields .. etc ... Spug found me - well i found him .. he was looking the other way .. and off we trotted to queen st station and on the train to falkirk ... and off to spugs. We landed there about 5pm .. So took me all in all about 7hrs by car, foot, train and bus to get to spugs. We'd planned to go to Edinburgh on the saturday .. looking at the weather forecast during the week - fine on friday, rain on saturday and fine on sunday when i was coming home again!!!

Spugs got up early saturday morning .. went into falkirk and got the stuff i was bringing back - red kola for the nephews 2 2litre bottles and some haggis's he left me sleeping .. and when he got back woke me up .. eventually i got up .. and we went into edinburgh. To say it was supposed to rain we had lovely blue skies and white fluffy clouds i stuck my waterproof jacket in spugs rucksack tho its scotland what else do you expect ..and off we went.
