Tweeting

I've signed up to Twitter. I haven't a clue what I'm doing, really, but I've made a couple of posts. You can look up all sorts of people on Twitter and, if they're a member, read what they have to say. You can also "follow" people, where you automatically see their posts, and I'm following Stephen Fry.

This following business is a bit like stalking. You can send a message to that person via email or a mobile phone (I wouldn't know where to start on my phone) but they only see your posts if they're following you. I hope you're following this. :D

I decided to follow Stephen Fry because he is a well known tweeter; that's what we on Twitter are, we tweet. He will also talk to anybody (famous for it) and I like his style. Anyone who can freely admit he went to prison for credit card fraud when he was 18 and still be as entertaining and funny as he is has bags of style, don't you think? You might not like his morals (though, to his credit, he never did it again) but you have to admire his Jeeves to Hugh Laurie's Wooster.

I've looked for people I know personally, on Twitter, but so far I've drawn a blank. This is unlike Facebook, where I now have about 50 friends, but the principle is the same, give or take the mobile phone element. Maybe Twitter hasn't taken off yet in the circle I move in.

Anyway, I've got a follower. Yes, already, and I only joined yesterday. I haven't a clue who this person is but it seems to be female. It hasn't spoken to me but the system tells me it's following me. It must be bored to death, I've only made 2 posts and they weren't exactly rivetting. :D

im on twitter as well ... i dont understand it either .. rather do a blog .. as you only get 140 characters on twitter .. blog you get rather more!!! lol

Apparently it's mainly older people who use Twitter, so says Nik who's only 33. I think it's a bit boring. ;)
