Weekend

Busy weekend. Friday was the Labour party AGM, obviously the first one that I've ever been to so didn't know what to expect. It wasn't as stuffy as I expected, in fact, it was almost fun. Before I sat down I said to Chris don't let me volunteer for anything. Well, when it came to the election of officers for the coming year David Myles nudged me and said I should go for the position of Women's Officer. I had to decide within two seconds as to whether he was going to nominate me or not so I said yes. Claire Pritchard was also nominated. The ballot was an exact draw and very diplomatically agreed to share the role rather than have further ballots. It should work quite well as Claire and I get on ok.

Chris and I then went on to Lock St for another couple of drinks - it has to be admitted that I drank far more than I should. I suffered for it on Saturday morning. It didn't help that when we went to see Accrington Stanley play later on Saturday afternoon that we ended up stood near the drum player. Football results were good - Blackburn beat Arsenal, Stanley won and Burnley lost - how good is that?

Then on to the meet. I had a really good time but I wasn't able to drink too much as I was still a bit tender. That's why I tried to make more of an effort getting ready to cover up the cracks. Don't think some people recognised me at first but my hair has now returned to its normal straightness. Some nice compliments about my weight so thank you very much.
