Well Wrapped.....!

I am feeling ever so slightly pleased with myself.......why? I have got a great lump of my Christmas presents wrapped and tagged. They only need the decorative ribboning to finish them off.

It has been such a gloomy day today. I went to see Muti, who has not been a bit well. Despite me staying away while I have had this chest cold......she got one. I wanted to go up and see her on Sunday, but she said she didn't want visitors. Canny old bird knew I was going up to suss out how sick she was. She told me the door would be locked and she was not opening it for anyone other than the undertaker...I told her that would be a really neat trick - to be dead, but capable of unlocking the door to let the undertaker in......she started laughing - which started off a fit of coughing. I asked if she would be well enough to go on the jaunt that we have planned for this weekend......she said she would be fit as she has been looking forward to this trip for weeks.
Anyway, today she seemed to be in fine fettle, just a bit croaky. She gave me two envleopes full of money to pay her bills with before we go away. She wanted to go down to the post office to get some passport photo's so that she can have her disabled badge renewed. I saved her that bit of outlay.....I printed some pics of her off the computer - she was well impressed with me. That should get me at least 10 brownie points and put me in the good books for the full wheel chair pushers badge instead of just the apprentice one.

My sister in law was supposed to be coming over to see me this afternoon.
We were going to go in search of some really heavy curtain material for her little cottage. Debs has been admiring the curtains that I made for my front room. She keeps trying to get me to sell them to her. She tells me thay would look so much better in her cottage. I told her that the material cost me over a hundred quid and that I was in a nervous sweat when I was cutting into the material in case I had got the measurments wrong. Anyway I think she wants me to make her some curtains like mine.
I have my hands full with the baby minding stuff at the moment.....and I offered to lend her my machine...after all she used to make curtains for Dorma.... why would she want me to make her curtains? I think it is not because I am particularly good at curtain making, but because you would get someone else to do things for you if you could.....wouldn't you?

I waited for a good hour this afternoon and didn't hear anything from her so that is when I decided that I couldn't just sit around waiting.....hence the Christmas presents.....and me getting them wrapped. Debs didn't come so I wrapped all the gifts that I have bought so far. What a result!
I need to hoe into the greetings cards now and then I will really be cooking with gas.

I hope both you and Muti are fighting fit for your trip away, and look forward to reading about it.:)
