Friends.
Luckily l've always had good friends, unlike lots of people on the same bus as me. My earliest best friends were always girls, a bit ironic that l find females so fascinating. To me they are more honest, funny, intuative. The earliest friendships with girls also provided a good 'lavender' cover, everyone thought l must have been a right little stud!
Not being a 'typical' lad, and having an artistic bent, didn't stop me from being popular though. lt could have done, l saw lots of people excluded for a lot less, wearing glasses etc. So childhood friendships for me were easy, simple and straight forward.
ln adulthood we have more choices, and my friendships have been mainly with couples. These aren't creepy, menange a trois sort of relationships. However like some relationships they have a use by date. l never set out to have best friends who were couples it just happened. l met one person, and then their partner too.
Perry and Sara, a straight couple. Ade and Nic, a lesbian couple. John and Don, a gay couple. A nice spread there, don't you think? The last two l went on holiday with in January. lt's a shame but l realised that it's over. They have no understanding of my life, now l'm not the life and soul of the party 24/7.
Being single, friendships have been very important to me, but when one comes to an end, it's time to turn the page and start the next chapter.

We all do...... need friends that is. We need to have a commonality and approval from someone other than our family.
Garinda, why do I get the feeling that in this portion of your journal you feel a bit low......or perhaps even let down...... maybe by someone you thought was a friend......or perhaps my imagination is working overtime!

It's true about friends coming and going. Sometimes you outgrow them or vice versa. Your life changes and you no longer seem to gel in the same way as you once did, it's no ones real fault, just the way we grow and learn I guess. Due to a lot of illness and mental illness (yep I'm a whacko :) ).... I kinda grew away from a lot of my friends, it's sad but it is what it is......... anyway now you are back up here garinda I am sure you shall meet lots of good old Accringtonians to fill your days with fun and frolics........
