Re: Reflections on the Leicester game

Hi All,

Was talking to Harwood Red , Macca, Zero and Spud tonight and they said I should post something instead of just reading things on here!

Thought the lads did us proud tonight, did not deserve to lose the game and if they can play like that every week I don't think we should be worrying about staying up, more upset if we do not reach the play offs if not better!

This is the best team I have seen up here but must admit dissapointed with the crowd, although the Clayton End did their best.

Re: Reflections on the Leicester game

My opinion is that we will never see a higher league team so comprehensively battered for 40 minutes like Leicester were tonight. Their fans wished us luck on their way home but you you could see that they had a little bit of shame in their eyes that lickle old Stanley had managed to make them look so poor for as long as did. Lets not forget that this was no second string Foxes team. We really murdered them in the second half without really doing anything inside the six yard box.

My only gripe (other than a pathetic attendance) tonight was that I thought Coley could have gone for the juglular with the substitutions tonight. We ripped them apart with pace and movement and I would have thought that maybe Mullin (played his usual 100% game) should have come off to make way for another quick little ****** like McGivern to come on. A triple substitution with 15 minutes left would have took nothing away from the momentum given by the team and the crowd but would have given them 3 more problems to have to deal with.

If we can reproduce that performance week in week out then this season holds no fears for us.

Forza Stanley!

Re: Reflections on the Leicester game

Yeah you did Harwood Red! Thought why not.

Macca, would not have brought Mullin off, would have brought Procky off (he had a great game) and put Browny in the middle, with Harris who was exceptional. The way he was banging the shots in at half time made me feel he was up for it.

Re: Reflections on the Leicester game

tsk, its no wonder you aint posted much with posts like that

I agree that Procky was magnificent tonight but it was around the box where we had no give and go. I have been on record often enough as saying that I think Mullin is fantastic, but, occasionally subing him takes away a little of the predictability of our play and gives the defence something more to think about. I'd have shoved all the subs on and then got thrown out of the competition for fielding 15 players!!!

Re: Reflections on the Leicester game

Yeah but no but yeah,

If we were missing out around the box Browny would have made a difference. My opinion anyway.

Mullin works all game and that t055er who keeps slagging him off all game, who stands in front of me (who did it all last season) needs to learn abit more about football.
