In my mind I split the Club as the paid full time staff and those that are there every day (EW and 1 other)

The other directors are also unpaid, but only attend on home match days, therefore our direct input to ASFC is reduced. We have been asked by EW to run a minimum of two events per year, without involving the full time staff. Trust this makes sence??

The post was by Thin Monkey (who I don't know) not Tin Monkey who is a regular poster and top fella.

If anything this "treatment" of supporters is down to ME alone. Now I really feel it's rather unfair to level that at me!!!

With regards to the presentation, I am lead to believe that it will take place on the 25th of April, after the last home game v Chesterfield. I plan for the dinner to be held after this date
That's good to hear SR - wouldn;t want it to clash with an event that us ladies are allowed to attend

Not yet anyways - maybe that's why it's been postponed, nobody's had time to ask about the sarnies

Southernred draws a distinction between the (full time) Club and the unpaid / part-time Directors. It's a distinction I can accept because I have known most of the Directors for many years and appreciate the tireless work they have done to help get the Club were it is.

It is not a distinction which is so easily sold to those supporters who have been attracted to the club since promotions to the Conference and Football League. In any case the Club (i.e. the full-time employees) must have known that the sportsman's had been cancelled but no one took the trouble to post the info on the Fishy site. Leaving the announcement to be posted on an unofficial site which the Club has clearly disowned.

If the Club isn't going to bother posting announcements like that one, what exactly is the point of having the bloody thing in the first place?

I love Accrington Stanley and show that love by buying a season ticket, buying tickets for every raffle, attending every Sportsman's dinner, signing up to every rebranding of the weekly draw and maintaining a keen interest in all things Stanley. What do I get in return? I get a Gold Bond scheme sold to me on the basis that there will be Special Events and Prize Draws which never happen and a web site which seems to take a delight in not telling me things.

The love of a football club is like every other romance. It requires a bit of work from both parties and a bit of communication from both sides to keep it alive. It needs promises to be kept.

At the moment I just feel taken for granted.

No,

It hasn't occured, several sensible reasons, credit crunch, success of our friends up the road, seat project etc.

It could be set up very quickly, key issue would be the sale of 120+ tickets at £30 per head.

Would suit me to put in late October, on a Friday night when the team are away on the Saturday.

Maybe somerthing "the fighting fund" could also get involved in??

I was thinking of the FF involvement/organisation thing, I think that one of the FF had the original idea We can wait until the 17th for the fixture's, then set the date....Will leave it in your capable hands..

Re: Sportsman's Dinner

I'll happily front it, all we need is ticket sales ( which for whatever reason I struggled to acheive) and "specialist" help from 3 people. These 3 are totally dedicated to the cause, I'm convinced there will be on issues.

Bums on seats are the only thing thats needed!!
