Does anyone have a miracle cure?

I´ve had it for weeks and it really is getting me down now. The doctor gave me an injection and Ibroprufen but neither helped. I´ve tried Deap Heat, Tiger Balm, Paracetemol and a heat pad but the pain still gets through.

Backache never had it june dunno if this is any good.

June, if you have tried all those things, and you are still suffering then you need to go and see the Doctor.
You need to be checked out properly.
You may need to have some prescribed NSAID's and perhaps something to relax you(they often use Diazepam).
I hope you get sorted out soon. Low back pain is debilitating and can make life miserable.

There are a number of these products on the market......Ibugel, Volatrol, etc........but any back condition that has not responded to basic treatment of pain relief and heat treatment should make you think that you need a proper medical assessment.

These over the counter products are usually much milder than the ones that the GP can prescribe and are often no more effective than the much cheaper paracetamol......though they can be used in tandem with paracetamol.....the way they work is different.

The other thing with these medications is that they may interact with other medications that you might be taking........hence the advice to speak to the pharmacist.
They should be used with caution in anyone who has asthma.(if the Asthma is bad then a doctor may not prescribe one of these medications).

June, get an appointment to see the Doctor.

have you tried a tens machine? But like Margaret has said, you should be going back to your doctor.

My concerns are, that the injection and the Ibruprofen didn't help....which is why I think a further visit to the doc is indicated and further investigations.
There is no miracle cure for low back pain.

The trouble with a tens machine is you need somebody to position the pads if the pain is in your back, doing it yourself is very precarious

Pain is a warning signal that something is amiss....treating the pain without identifying the cause is not sensible.....find the cause and treat that.

Totally agree Margaret, I wondered why I was getting very bad back pain, then I found out I had osteoporosis, that was 20 years ago, I stared with a tens unit but now I use Remedi unit which is easier to handle and is much more effective, but I still need medication too these days. In the last 20 years I've lost 4 inch in height through curvature of the spine

Ma has osteoporosis too, so I know what a problem it is.

Thought it was bert that had that?

Having said that backache etc is bad if you get it i suffer from sciatica now and again can be very painful
