The Canoe Man Cometh
 

The man who was presumed drowned 5 years ago has turned up in London and has now been arrested by Hampshire Police. They say he was well dressed and tanned and they have, allegedly, a photo of him with his "widow" taken in Panama where she is now living.

The "widow" cashed in insurance policies on him worth £½million and recently sold properties in Hartlepool of about the same value. It sounds like the perfect scam but I wonder why he decided to reappear.

If the photo of him being in Panama is true then it's yet another indication of how good our border security is based on the fact nobody seems to know he has been abroad and come back again, or they can't identify false passports :rolleyes:

very strange the guy re-appearing:confused: also very dumb if it was a scam,to have his photo taken for a web site. still makes it more interesting.:rolleyes:

this made me laugh. i think they prob thought since it was all done in "goodwill" and "innocently" they'd get to keep the money.

top dollar bets this gets made into a film with helen mirran playing the widow

I suspect she has booted him out and done a runner with the dosh from Panama to 'somewhere in South America'

If the photo of them together in Panama isn't a fake, the wife will be in a whole load of trouble along with him.
