She equates the recent election success as being the nod to go for another independence vote.....because a lot of Scottish folk voted for the party in the election, does not mean that all those voters want to be independent of the UK.

It would be good if the UK has beaten a path to the door that other countries can follow.

I think that unless the EU makes some very radical changes(which it won't) then it's days are numbered.

I actually think France may well be next. The country has the highest level of public spending against it's GDP in the EU, the Gilet Jaunes are doing their bit and Marine Le Pen (of the Front Nationale) coould become president. All the recipes for some serious unrest and desire for change.

Jimmy, there is nothing I would like to see more than France leaving the EU.
Then the house of cards would fall.

The EU has beaten sovereign countries into submission (Greece, they helicoptered in a technocrat government to do the work of the EU, similarly in Italy)by political and fiscal means rather than bullets and tanks....and it seems like although Germany lost the war, they have used their will and the power of a soppsed trading organisation to ensure they make the rules(via Brussels of course)...or at least that is how it looked to me.

Spain and Poland are being told that their judiciary have to bow to the ECJ and are not happy about relinquishing primacy of their courts....they see this(rightly) as a loss of sovereignty.....maybe these countries are waking up to the devious ways of the EU.

Slowly, slowly, catchy Monkey! I think that the the end of the eu scam, as it presently is has been rumbled & in the not to distant future there will be major change if not outright dissolution of the cesspool.


Sensible nations will go back to trading with each other with their own currencies, as it once was & it worked well enough then & should do again. And all the would be Napoleons & Adolfs will be sent scuttling back under their cruddy rocks to skulk & sulk.

Oh & the Gargoyle Verhofstadt can crawl back up his drainpipe & re-take his rightful position on his Church corner!

It will take longer to recover from the Fourth Reich than it did from the Third.

I wonder what the response would have been by the EU to Britain had this country 'invited' a million Hong Kong citizens (who are generally industrious and law abiding) to escape the despotism of China as opposed to the rabble (who are freeloading ingrates hell bent on abusing and destroying our way of life) that Merkel invited ? I bet the UK would have been vilified and had penalties imposed by the EU.

The fact that both Spain and Poland are questioning the erosion of their sovereignty by the EU is something that may make other members wake up to the situation.

They will have already made sure they don't lose no matter which way the cookie's hit the fan, golden parachutes in the form of excellent pensions and severance payments will take whatever remains in the EU pot.

After all there is going to be one helluva financial black hole to fill....one which Germany and France are in no position to cover....nor do they look likely to be in the foreseeable future.

When it goes ar$e uppards it will release Greece, Italy and Spain.....they need to take back their old currencies, devalue and then they will be able to claw themselves out of the pit dug for them by the EU and the stupid single currency experiment.
For them, it has never been an even playing field.
The EU always knew this but took advantage and that is downright immoral.
