I think that most people of our age group Eric can remember a little corner shop like the on you mentioned. I remember there was on such shop on the corner of Hartley St and Albert Street in Ossy, can't remember what the people were called who had it, but I can still picture the old dear behind the counter. Sadly the shop closed many moons ago, in fact the shop is no longer there now, there is just a wide open space when Hartley Street and one side of Hodgen Street was demolished years ago

You know, chocolate, humbugs, jaw breakers (a.k.a. gob stoppers) .... all those bad-for-you things that kids love .... maybe sweets, or toffees .... whatever, we have the same junk over here. and, as you probably know, we call it candy.
