I am sick and fed up of hearing/reading it!

“Lessons will be learned!”

Time and time again we get this when it means nothing, things do not change.

Yobs slaughter the disabled and aged, kids beaten to death or staved!

Jon Venables “rehabilitated” and released with a new I D but what about the man who is thought to be him and persecuted for that ? Should he not be given a new I D?

I totally agree, we've become an apologist society, where the victim comes second

David Calvert thinks that Jack Straw should 'stand up the real Venables', however, I think, at the moment, is best for Mr. Straw just to publicly state David Calvert is not the man.

Presume you are talking generally about young people harrassing the vulnerable; the story of David Askew had me in tears:

Not many details on this report but seemingly he had been the victim of taunting for years due to his mental disablement ... kids throwing stones at him, at the windows, nicknaming him 'Dopey Dave' .. even following him to the betting office as he regularly placed a 10p. bet, and the Manager had to ask him not to come in any more due to the disturbance the yobs caused.

The stories go on and on about this case ... heartbreaking.

Just makes you wonder what this country has become over the years since we were in our teens kate, we have been failed by successive governments, who do not seem to have had the answers, Me thinks its time to turn the clock back and start again where kids respected their parents teachers and authority in general, now all we get is you can't touch me I've got rights. In my day you earned your rights as a kid not given them on a whim by dogooding muppets

It isn't just the young, there are people of all ages that get away with what to ordinary people is disgusting, without thinking most of us go through life treating others in a way we hope they will behave towards us.

Unfortunately, we now have principles above what we can afford, too much sympathy for the person causing harm and nothing for the poor victim to help them over their Crisis.

but jaysay .. teenagers today are your grandchildren or maybe great grandchildren .. the parents of the teenagers are your children .. now does this mean you didnt bring your kids up right to be the parents they are today ..

is the government of the day .. no matter who it is... responsible for the way you bring up your children ..

I'm not too sure about this Less, maybe it is just a case of we hear of these types of cases more, and not the ones where victims have had the best of help and justice ?

Sorry J' rather than pass the Buck to ineffectual Governments, after all, they are all basically useless, it is our generation that has let so many others down.

Our parent's were busy during the 40's & 50's living on nothing trying to restore the Country.

What have we done?

Wasted the lot and expect our children & their children to sort it out for us, what a wasted generation we are.

We could have done so much better.

It started with the young Less and as grown worse through the generations, now its a sickness which afflicts all of society. The place to put things right is before the youngsters get entrenched in their bad ways, but it will always be an upward battle, change for the better always is

No trouble with my kids Jen even though they come from a split family, my Granddaughter is a credit to her mother, don't know about my two grandsons they're a bit to young and live abroad, but the eldest who's nearly 7 is doing great at school, but time will only tell

No it started with the parents of the young, watch David Attenborough nature programmes, young monkey see, young monkey do.

Lead by example, don't blame others for our selfish mistakes.

I hear what your saying Less, and in a way I can agree, but I think government has to take some responsibility down the line, for letting things get as bad as it is today, after all its they who set out legislation on the way we have to live our lives

but what about the stuff you dont hear about .. how do you know for certain that they theyre not up to mischief out of sight of their parents .. did you tell your parents everything you got up to .. did you hell as like .. you knew what would happen .. and when you were daddy ... werent you a bit easier on your kids than your parents were on you .. you werent as strict .. and thats what im getting at .. your kids probably arent as strict as you were on their parents .. just like you werent on your kids ..
