Can anyone please tell me what, "Automatically parse links in text" means whilst sending private messages,

In English language...if my memory serves me correctly, it is to split a sentence into its component parts...but I think it might mean something different in computer terms.

It means it will automatically turn a web address you type into a clickable link

Hello Marge, I only noticed the "prompt", or whatever it is known as; whilst sending a P.M to a fellow, (not wishing to be sexist), Accy Webber the other day.

I am no wiser now even though it has been explained but then again I have never been Tech Savvy as they say,I even had to ask my missus how to put the Tele on to BBC2 yesterday so that I could watch the two Rugby Union matches that were being broadcast, (sorry but true).

There is no redemption for Luddites such as me,

Taddy, I have a chap just like you residing with me.
He has been wanting a Smart TV for a while, but I have told him that if he cannot master an iPad, then I know that my life would be a constant round of 'sorting' the TV out.
I would have very little peace.

I am tech savvy enough to be able to do the things I want to do...all of this has been achieved through errorful learning...making monumental cock ups!

We 're not savvy with teles and laptops but if we ask our 8 year old grandson he sorts things out !!!!! What does that song say ? 'They'll learn more than I'll ever know'. How true

I was once told that no one can master something that they have very little interest in. (except for the odd Rugby match that is), that the BeeB screens now and again.

On the other hand, I am a dab hand at raising and lowering a pint glass many times a day; if it was an olympic event I would be in the running for a Gold medal.

I think the situation in our house is that himself has found someone who (mostly) can do the things that he cannot...he delegates those things to me.

Taddy...it is ME who should have the medal.

If he doesn't deal with any of the tech stuff he cannot be blamed if it goes wrong.
When it does go awry and I am trying to fix it he constantly asks 'what is it doing now?'
To which I reply ' I think you have me mixed up with someone who knows what they are doing!'
