Great start STANLEY. Sadly, over here we have just gone into full lock down-'cept for me who is deemed an essential worker, which means its off to work in a few mins so cant follow the boys kick by kick. :(

If we can hold on for another 74 minutes I’m on for 5 points in the PL

Well a great start for Stanley and they have created a few good chances Trafford hasn't had a save to make bit of a frantic half lacking to be honest any real quality.

Good 3 points battled away like I said before the game lacking quality in passing but looks like we have found another good young loanee keeper deserved his clean sheet commanded his box well with some lovely catches. On the whole we defended well midfield battled away pity Pritchard faded a bit second half because he's the one who ouzes class when on his game. Front two battled well but thought their center half got the better of Charles has he became increasingly frustrated should have brought Mumbongo on earlier because he offers a different style and in his short time on caused a few problems looks strong and direct clean sheet and three more points come on.

Agree with Andy d, just to add Rodgers and Sykes made many great clearances so despite the pressure are goal never came close to being breached.
On the other foot, second half we got pinner back as the balls forward where aimless and nothing stuck up top till the injury time sub. Seamus was perhaps the missing link to calm the possession down at this point.
A win is a win, pleased with 6 points from 9 available.

But yet again, 3 bookings for us and none for them. I can't follow how this happens every game?

I agree with you about the referee. Another one clearly who thinks that his main priority is to ‘play on’ and ‘keep the game flowing’. He acted on only eighteen fouls……ten against us and eight against Doncaster! In reality he spoiled the second half as he was letting far too much mauling, wrestling and shirt pulling go without taking action. This type of refereeing can increase the risk of injuries to players too. So in trying to ‘maintain the flow of play’ he actually ruined the match as a spectacle! Two of our yellow cards were justified as they were professional fouls but how Doncaster didn’t have three or four yellow cards remains a mystery! Doncaster were very clever but blatantly so with little pushes in the backs of our players, thus knocking them off balance and mis hitting the ball. Players on both sides in the second half were not allowed to win the ball without being pulled, pushed and dragged around which caused far too much of the play from both sides to be up in the air! IMHO referees should simply apply the rules properly regarding unfair physical contact and allow teams to ‘play football’!:gooddog:

Descended into a horrible game of pushing, pulling and up and unders. Glad not to have to watch Doncaster every week and it was a pity Stanley got sucked into playing their type of game.
But good effort to hang onto three points against a physical side (thought some of their players must be ex Rugby League) and a very inconsistent ref.
Maybe refs like giving Stanley a hard time at home because bigger crowds at other clubs wouldn’t let them get away with it so lightly?

Excellent interview on the ‘Fishy site’ with young goal keeper James Trafford.
He had a super game tonight and the ‘clean sheet’ will build his confidence up even more. James is already becoming a real favourite with the Clayton End. Lovely lad too.:theband:
