Clarke Carlisle

Clarke Carlisle, a top bloke, who's played against us a few times, is fighting for his life after an incident with a lorry in Yorkshire:

Let's hope he pulls through. Good luck to him and his family.

Re: Clarke Carlisle

Latest news carries more positive hopes for his recovery !....Hope this is so and that Clarke makes a sure return to full health !.
Like Mab says yesterday was a day for discovering that at this time when we all make an effort to show a little bit more goodwill to others, then another day of tragedy comes along to bring sadness and worry to so many !.
If, like me, you believe that extra goodwill in the form of sending kind thoughts by means of a little prayer is something positive we can do to show that we care, then take the time to join me .
In the meantime this seems an appropriate moment to send my very best wishes to all on our Forum for a happy and secure Christmas and a healthy and successful 2015 !... And to all at the 'Storefirst' , thanks for a fascinating and exciting 2014, and Bon Chance for all that the Reds attempt to achieve on our behalf during the coming year !.

See you at York ?.

Re: Clarke Carlisle

Clarke is a real credit to the game, let's hope the more positive recent news on his condition means that he pulls through this completely.

Not sure what the link is, he wasn't in a car when the accident happened - he was a pedestrian at the time

Re: Clarke Carlisle

He was fined and banned from driving in 2011 for drinking and driving too, but that should have no reflection on his terrible injury received recently. He was walking not driving.

Re: Clarke Carlisle

He has had a history of depression and the accident happened by a bridge.......He had been charged with drink driving in London a few hours before hand.

Re: Clarke Carlisle

And don't some folk just love to put 2 & 2 together & make 5! Whatever the circumstances of the accident, the lad is in a bad way & his family are having a tough enough time without people making up their own versions of events

He's been charged with drinking and driving yet some seem to think that's acceptable if you claim to be depressed!

Re: Clarke Carlisle

Sorry Accymad but I can add up correctly. The poor man has had a lot of problems with drink and depression and while he has help other folk with the same trouble he has not been able to sort himself out. Depression is a terrible illness and very much misunderstood. I sincerely hope Clarke gets the help he desperately needs and he never again gets to the nadir he was in last week.

Re: Clarke Carlisle

I know the circumstances surrounding the accident seem to be pointing to what may have happened, I just don't think the speculation does anyone any good especially the immediate family - no doubt the truth of what happened will come out & there'll be time enough then for people to pick over the bones of the situation.
