Stanley At Wembley

In case you didn't know Stanley are at Wembley for the League 2 play off final tomorrow, well their representatives are

As one of their sponsors we wish the lads good luck, but most of all enjoy the occasion

Ah, bless 'em - I'm sure they'll thoroughly enjoy it, hopefully beat Portsmouth & bring the trophy back home. Best of luck to them - who knows, maybe it'll be our first teams turn this time next year, well we can dream

Re: Stanley At Wembley

So it's bye bye to Southend - Wycombe must've thought they'd done it till that last minute equaliser took it to penalties, shame but at least Murph got the chance to play at Wembley although that's probably not much consolation at the minute.
Does anyone know how the kids went on in their game?

Shame. They lost but I don't know the score:

At least they played at Wembley and will have something to remember for the rest of their lives!

I see Murph scored Wycombe's first penalty and Joe Jacobson got another.

As people have said the Huncoat lads lost 2-0.

However they did recieve a trophy from the Royal Box

The were loudly supported by proud parents, plus Trust staff, Chairman Peter Marsden and Coley & Jimmy.

I'm sure they've have a weekend they'll never forget!

Re: Stanley At Wembley

The excitement started on Friday morning as the coach set off from Huncoat Primary School at 10am.
That night was spent right on Wembley's doorstep at the Holiday Inn.
Before their match they had a grand tour of the stadium then on entering the changing room found their kit laid out professionally.
Of course there was disappointment at not winning but there were still smiles as they climbed up to the Royal Box to receive a trophy and medals presented by the Kinder sponsor's representative assisted by the Community Trust Chair, Peter Shaw.
The journey home, straight after the play off final, was just as lively at the start with the boys' spirits lifted by their memories and all the 'goodies' they had been given but they needed a wake up nudge by 3am as the coach pulled up at school.
