Re: Starting Eleven versus Luton Town.

Difficult choice, but it's a home game so I would go against my "clean sheet first" principle and it's probably the same as Ash's

Re: Starting Eleven versus Luton Town.

As pitches/weather worsen then Matty is the man for the holding role in midfield, proper tough lad who can defend and play a bit too !!

Do you think we might start the game with 10 men as your line up suggests?

My thoughts are
Etheridge or Mooney
Buxton, Winnard, Davies Pearson
Crooks, Conneely and Wright
Windass, Gornell and McConville or Kee

Re: Starting Eleven versus Luton Town.

with so much quality competition for places I sincerely hope that Coley doesn't keep the faith with players who aren't performing. That is part of his charm for some players and why they will play for him but there are going to be some players this year who just don't get a look in. If they cant see a way in when those in possession of the shirt are playing crap then the strength in depth starts to look weak.

Proccy has been a favourite of mine throughout his career but there is some real potential with some of this squad and he can't expect to walk straight back in.

Gornell is quality when his head is in the game, but so is Kee. Morgan and Carver have promise and youthful energy but will need to see game time.

Bruna? can't see where he fits in at the moment but he has pedigree and will bring us in some cash come January if he gets a run.

Coley does favour a regular line up but this year we have the squad to play the right team against the right opposition, use it and we'll do well

Agreed, Between Deano and Procter

Bruna could play Left back (as he did at Marine)

Windass will be gone in January

Re: Starting Eleven versus Luton Town.

So may difficult choices to make !!
Couple of things to throw in the mix, playing friendlies is one thing but league two football will be entirely different, and you have to get the right balance between youth and experience.
A good start for me would be four wins from the first ten games.
On the plus side we still have loan signings to compliment the side.
We have some great attack minded players in our team, but clean sheets is key (sorry redraine!) and build from there .

I agree entirely Rob. From what I have seen so far this season, admittedly a limited amount, Morgan would easily be my first choice at c.f. but I somehow doubt Coley will see it that way.

Been a little disappointed with Morgan's first few games as he's got a reputation as a "goal machine",but on Saturday he was excellent, so I'll put it down to getting his fitness levels up and he certainly has to come into consideration.
