Re: Swindon home thread

Have to stop Twyne (sp?) running the midfield for them.
He’s no full back but some good deliveries by birthday boy.

Re: Swindon home thread

Hard game to call Swindon no mugs good at set pieces so need to cut out needless fouls around the box, Pompey getting hammered 4-0 at Northampton lot of football left in this season 3 points a must today soldier on and hopefully as games continue to mount we have more bodies fit and available we,ll need them.

Re: Swindon home thread

Crown Grounder was spot on - that was difficult!
But we’ll done to the squad to get three points and not to let the ref make matters worse.

Re: Swindon home thread

Not at all pretty to watch but it's the 3 points that matter so well done lads for grinding out a result. Hope Seamus & Colby are ok, we don't need any more injury problems

Re: Swindon home thread

Great 3 points pyshio,s and medical staff will have their work cut out patching the walking wounded up but the spirit and never say die attitude needs no such attention another big game at Barton,s new charges but hopefully another run starting and 3 more in the bag.

Very uncharacteristic performance from Butcher but what a difference if that late strike had hit the crossbar two inches lower!

Much of the outfield squad look tired towards the end but Morgan looked a useful battler to bring on in a match like that.

Thought Swindon were a better team than one sitting a single point above the drop-zone. Shows how tough this league is this season.

Personally think Charles is the only player who hasn't shown any tiredness he,s a bundle of energy thought he caused their defence problems just by being a nuisance, his control at times let's him down but 15 goals says it all my by a shade mom today, Morgan looking a decent signing hard looking type game time will improve him and way things are surely will get it.. Phillips when he came on looks a threat when facing goal could be an asset in Smyth's role, Russell did ok for Bishop in an unfamiliar role and really should have scored. Apart from the goal defence solid enough Barclay and Hughes do the simple things well 50 points target reached next target top 6.

50 points works for League 2, but not always enough in League 1 with 4 going down. Not that I think we are in any danger , just noting something like 10 clubs have gone down with 50 points in the last 15 years .....

Looking up, we can nick Pompey's playoff place if we just win that game in hand .....
