BBC Sport - Brian Jensen: Bury stay appeals to veteran goalkeeper

Assuming we won't be able to hang on to Bets , I'd take this lad like a shot if Bury didn't want to keep him ........

How many goalkeepers do we need??

Both Bavo's and Dawbs have another year to go

Re: The Beast

Stanley will need two good goalies, and have one in young Mr. Dawber.

I've always rated Bavs, and would happily give Dawbs a chance, but with one on loan and the other not given a place on the bench, I get the feeling JB doesn't think either of them are good enough?

The Beast

I would like the beast at Stanley but seems feelings are not mutual as he described the crown ground as the worst ground he's played on ..... Soon put my pentheth worth in

Re: The Beast

Dunbavin has improved year on year.
A far better choice than Dawber who clearly needs game time.

C'mon Davo, how has Mr. Dunbavin improved this year sitting on Snakesfield's bench?
It would be interesting to know which of the two keepers has had more match time this season.

To answer my own question, according to the FL stats, this season Mr.Dunbavin made 4 appearances for Stanley (plus one at M'boro) and Mr.Dawber has made 3. Neither of them appeared to have come on as subs at any time.
Not exactly a massive difference between them in "game time" this season.

Re: The Beast

Is there any need to get an end of career cost a small fortune keeper in when we've always been blessed with up and coming youngsters on loan deals? Paul Crighton was the last oldie we took on,anyone remember his performances?

Re: The Beast

Wouldn't surprise me if Marcus is on loan in League One or even the Championship next season. He is such a talent.

Hopefully JB can pull another rabbit out of the hat in that position next season. I've heard good things about Liversedge at Burnley.

Or maybe get Belford back??? Now that Tamworth have gone down???

Watching the goals that Pompey put past him last Saturday, I'm not surprised at Bury wanting a new keeper.
